I've had an Axe Fx II for about a year and a half. A while back, I got bored and started watching some Kemper vids on Youtube. I became mildly interested and decided I'd get a Kemper just to try it out and develop my own opinion. I had doubts that it would live up to the Axe and expected to return it.
I was actually very surprised. Turns out that I prefer the Kemper over the Axe and it's very likely the Axe will be sold very soon.
Within minutes of firing up the Kemper I found profiles (both free and commercial) that sounded better to me than anything I dialed up on the Axe. It's subtle, but to me the Kemper just sounds more real. Basically, the Kemper sounds like you're playing a real amp with a mic (or mics) on it. The Axe sounds like your playing a damn good digital model of an amp with a mic on it.
I often don't trust my ears during real-time playing with a guitar in hand so I performed a recording test. I recorded a mini song (with drums, bass, etc) with my favorite Axe preset and my favorite Kemper profile (both based on the same amp). While both sounded great, the Kemper won hands down for sounding more realistic.
Really, they're both incredible units but for raw amp tone I find that the Kemper edges the Axe out.
By the way, I should mention that I've tried FW 12.04 beta which supposedly is supposed to be so much more "3 dimensional". I did notice an improvement but not enough to beat the Kemper raw amp tone.
Je comprends pas le message que tu essai de faire passer.
