Studio Update
We're in it full swing now. The initial concept of this record from the start was to attempt to beg for, borrow, buy, steal, and
use as much pre 1980 gear as possible and record as much of the album to tape as possible. So far, I think we're winning. There's something about older records that sounds better than today's albums and I believe that there's a lot that people have forgotten. Although modern equipment has made it easier for anybody and their brother to make a record (which is a good thing, for the most part), we have found ourselves in a position to time travel and not exactly bypass, but add to, the devices that have become the staples of modern studio recording. It's an exciting time and every single day gets more adventurous. I think that the "process" this time for me personally, is enhancing the songs themselves. I'll try to update with more info like this in the future, but it's easy to become caught up in "the tubes" as they say.
