Si je dit pas de conneries, je crois que Furch changent le nom suivant les pays auquels ils vont commercialiser leurs guitars, c'est à dire Stonebridge pour l'Amérique Stanford pour l'Allemagne

1997
On account of above mentioned economical factors Furch Musical Instruments is canceling participation at the Frankfurt and Praha music fairs and exhibits later in autumn fair in Wroclaw, Poland. The guitar line was to stay with no changes. There was a steep fall of demand for "roundback", once hot item. Beside the Czech market, the great and steady demand was also in Netherlands, Switzerland and especially in Poland. Some stagnation showed up in Germany. That was obviously connected with the market strategy of local representative not the product itself. On the contrary, a new partner entered scene in Austria. The company was working on the parallel line of guitars of different character and more conservative design. Some finishing touches were put to it gradually. A new German partner introduced new product line onto the German market. That product line was sold under the name of
"Stanford". Forced by coming crisis the company began to solve its economic problems intensively. Strict terms of payment were to be introduced shortly. In the course of year the production was equipped with new technologies, new employees were hired - there were 25 of them by the end of March 1997 - the production capacity was about 40 guitars a week. By the end of the year that was brought up to more than 50 instruments a week. Furch Musical Instruments extended instrument guaranty from one to two years.
