Y a Anarky Audio qui a posté un truc sur son FB a propos des KLONs :

Anarchy Audio so...up until recently there was one schematic on the net, which as far as i am aware, is the source of what all other builders have been using. this was traced off a klon S 698 by Martin chittum aka soulsonic. Then... the guy behind BYOC, Keith traced a Silver for his recently released SIlver pony kit, and found an "error" in said schematic. 2 resistors (1K8 and 4K7) around the treple control were swapped!!!
there were also several component value differences, which may attribute to some tonal changes between a silver and a gold...
i've been staring at both, and analysing the circuit and decided...lets just build some and see... 3 versions, one to S698 schem spec (the supposedly wrong one) one the same spec but with the 2 resistor values fiipped, and one the same, but with different diodes. before even organising this test, it was apparent to my ears that one was generally brighter that the others (which made sense from a circuit point). now...
From the very first test against the BYOC silver pony (first one to rock up) it was immediately noticable that 2 werent the same in the treble knob sweep (black knob and copper knob). there was also some difference in the pot tapers (Liner Vs Log) but my white knobbed "aka White horse" and the silver could get very similiar sounds.
then came the arc. all similiar with only subtle differences that cant be described in words without sounding like a total wanker.
then came the KTR. again...very similiar, but i found the tapers in the pots the closest to the whitehorse. surprisingly similiar. and humoursly enough...on several different settings. could just hit the A/B switch repeadily and not be able to tell the difference.
then we brought the soul food into the mix. now this one can hang with the others, but theres something i found different. particularly when the gain was higher. something in the top end. as a clean boost they are all similiar, but the soulfood was still a bit different. not quite thinner, not quite the same. will this matter in a band mix? maybe. maybe not. not one of the pedals sounded bad, or sounded way off (including the 2 with the corrected 2 resistors, which were the noticably differnt ones, they still sounded good great).
so which would you pick? IMO if you are using the pedal solely as a clean boost(clean meaning pedal gain on zero to not breaking up) any one will do this depends on pre or post placement. If you are picking one solely for its high gain(meaning max) tones, i have no idea why you are looking at a klon, but for the purposes of this i prob wouldnt pick the soul food. now if you are wanting to use the klon set for its verge of breakup, mid push boost...to your verge of breakup amp crunch...this is where it becomes more difficult...and this may be something that works or may not work with your particular setup (style of amp circuit, single coils/humbuckers) the differences, however minute are more noticable with lower output pickups vs humbuckers.
im already rambling on too much, but you have options for your wallet as well as pedalboard layout.
no clips were recorded, i feel they are pretty useless, especially with pot tapers/variances as well as youtube not being able to faithfull reproduce being there in the room. i also belive those who pay over the top $$$ for one will hear more of a difference compared to someone who picks up the klone or soulfood who may or may not hear much difference at all.
hope this was somewhat helpful. ive now corrected black knob and copper knob to the soulsonic schem. will build one to silver spec and do more comparisons and testing...
to summarise...i dont think comparisons with knobs at exact settings (ie in youtube vids) are useful. its also quite difficult to obtain multiples of original klons, gold and silvers to be able to really compare.
from my analysis of the circuits and component choice, I personally dont believe even 2 real klons will sound exactly the same, just like vintage era big muffs.
lifes too short, just buy whatever pedal makes you be happy enough to get on with playing the guitar. just find a builder that can - actually deliver you a product and/or build a sturdy one, not one held together by doublesided sticky tape and/or wrapped up in electrical duct tape.
