Strange AIR body...basically i think its wood centre with hollow wings covered in maple or something like that.
2 controls - 1 volume and 1 pickup selector, in the form of a knob rather than a switch.
2 soapbar style humbuckers.
Rosewood board, odd tuners, like a barrel knobs, but nice looking.
Nice wide shallow neck.
Sound: 9
I am a beginner/intermediate player and i wanted something with a neck suiatble for my small fingers. I tried most of the guitars in the shop in my price range and this one was an instant hit.
I am using it through a Vox Valvetronix 30 Amp.
The sound is fantastic, especially nice blues crunch kind of tone, which is what i'm looking for.
The pickups are a strange cross between singlecoil and humbucker, they are powerful but not muddy, nice clarity to each note, i especially enjoy the tone with both on at once.
The hollow body also seems to add something to the sound and gives it a very dynamic tone with a surprising amount of character which belies the first impression given by the looks of the guitar.
Action, Fit, & Finish: 9
I bought the guitar from Sounds Great in Heald Green, they always set their instruments up well in my experience. The intonation is spot on, action is good and pickup height also is fine.
No flaws to the finish, which is a rather odd look. The top is white, with a couple of pencil lines eminating from the middle of the guitar. the back of the body and neck is airplane grey in colour, with a nicely p[ainted line of silver paint joining the 2 in place of binding. The bridge is also very individual but so far works fine.
Reliability/Durability: 7
The guitar is very light and the AIR body does kind of feel flimsy, but i do not play live and am not likely to, so i don't know how it would stand up. The finish is very plastic, will last for a long time i suspect.

Overall Rating: 8
I have been playing about 2 years, but not very religiously. I play for my own fun, to make a loud noise every so often. As I get older i find myself listening to blues music and more subtle things, which lead me to listen to tones rather than notes. This guitar has great tones. If you walk into the shop you may look over as it is individually finished, some may not like, but it is definetely worth a go. Try one out and you may be pleasantly surprised, especially for the very reasonable price tag.
One thing though, the pickup switch is a knob. I can see no real functional reason for this which leads me to think it is a gimmick, but i can live with that as it foes the job and sounds great.
