Here is the long version of the story!
Basically, this was not supposed to be an official live dvd. It was originally just filmed to be bonus tracks on our next studio cd or for our website, etc. However, when SPV was obviously having some serious problems, I tried to think of something I could give them (other than a new studio cd!) to get out of my deal with them. I told them I could give them a live dvd. They said "ok, if we can first see a few clips". I scrambled quick to call my video friends, The Campbell Borthers from Texas and asked them if they could throw this dvd together (clips first) and make a dvd. I also talked to the Masters Of Rock guys and they quickly couriered me the master audio and video. Wen the Campbell Brothers got the footage, they thought it (the video) was good enough to edit together so they went ahead and quickly did 2 songs or SPV. SPV liked it and we did a deal to give them the DVD in return to get out of our deal with them.
Everything looked great until I got a call from the Campbell Brothers saying" Jeff, we have a problem". The problem was that a few of the camera guys literally shut off their cameras, about half way through our set! So basically, since they had 4 cameras on us, 2 of the cameras were not there for the last half o our set. Therefor, the Campbell Brothers had to fly in footage from earlier songs into the latter songs, to fill gaps... even going as far as to darkening the footage because the early part of the set was in sundown and the last part of the set was total darkness!
I found a few clips where I am soling and I can tell that a quick part of it was taken from another song! Fortunately, there are not that many of these "Frankenstein" parts but I can notice them and a few others have too.
Not only that but, unless you are a guitar player, sometimes video editing people put camera footage in out of sync. This happened a few times on the dvd too. As for the audio, I got to mix it in my studio so i could make it really sound good! I did fix some bad guitar notes and the odd obvious vocal mistake but only a few of those.
There ya go
