Hi guys,
Eric here at Two-Rock. I thought I'd chime in here and address some concerns and introduce myself. I've taken over engineering duties with Chad's departure.
My post here is intended to illuminate some uncertainty about what exactly is going on in the engineering department in the absence of the men who built the company. I shall make no declarations or comments regarding PBG or their dealings with Chad and Bill. That is purely their domain to do so.
I was brought to Two-Rock in 2014 by Bill , whom I had met and who was loosely aware of me (and certainly I of him. Id been a Two-Rock fan for several years) and my reputation as a local tech and designer. I've been in the northern Bay area of San Francisco since 2010, and have lived in northern California since 2005, by way of my home state of Missisippi.
I've worked closely with Bill and Chad at Two-Rock for the last year, and maintain friendships with them outside of Two-Rock. I count myself fortunate and honored to have gotten to know and appreciate the Two-Rock design philosophy through them.
I spent the better part of the last year as a Senior Level builder, tester, and diagnostic tech for the new models that rolled off the assembly line (and by assembly line, I really mean about 5 people, all of whom still lovingly craft these Amplifiers by hand, one by one).
As far as my background, I was a player first, and have been for 22 years. Ive toured with John Lee Hooker Jr as his guitar player and backing vocalist, and ive contributed guitar tracks to album projects. In my spare time i perform as a Duo with Miles Schon.
My technical leanings go back nearly as far, as I've been troubleshooting electronics since my teens. I've been under the wing of numerous incredible mentors through my career of vacuum tube Electronics, and I have spent many, many hours designing, modifying and building circuits, from super clean to searing high gain.
As a technician I currently serve as tour and bench guitar/backline technician for Little Feat, a position I've held since 2011. I also tech for MoonAlice and the David Nelson band from time to time.
Regarding the new model, I'd rather not elaborate on it at this time, but I will say that it is a circuit that Chad and I worked on before he left, and Mac and I have brought to production and it will debut at NAMM. It will be a stark departure, yes, but I'm proud of it, and everyone who has played through it thus far have fallen in love with it.
Where will Two-Rock go from here? That, I can't say. What I can say is that I have the utmost respect for the legacy, and I will do everything I can to take care of existing Two-Rock customers and make new customers feel welcome and a part of the legacy. Any new designs I propose will ALWAYS begin with question of, does this do the legacy justice?
I'm happy to meet all of you and I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
Oh, and SFarnell, you need to come visit.
Two Rock happy user.
