Citation:
I haven't found authoritative info on all the fields of the serial number. The first position indicates the country of manufacture, and they use C to indicate China. The second position indicates the plant of manufacture but I haven't figured out what Y specifically indicates. the next
one or two digits indicates the year of manufacture, with the same looseness that applies to other Fender made or designed guitars. so 05 indicates it was made in 2005 or early 2006.
My son's Infinity Tele is CY4 and we bought it at a time that would have made it a 2004. Protone Teles made in 1996 are usually KC6, and made in 1997 are usually KC97. Those are the examples I've seen of one vs. two digits used for the year designation. (On the Protones, the K is for Korea and the C is for Cort.)
C'est loin d'être une source sûre, mais ça peut donner une indication. C'est tiré
d'un post sur TDPRI.
En gros c'est probablement une 2001, avec une petite boulette sur le numéro de série, ce qui ne serait pas étonnant.
