Mon premier mail :
Hi Robert,
I'm a french guitarist and i'm interested by your Ultra DS-1. I want to have a guitar sound like Vai or Satch. I play on a Rivera Chubster for info. So I think that my amp + your custom DS-1 will give me a very good sound ! (The distortion of the Chubster isn't enough heavy and compressed for me).
I want to know something before to order the pedal : I know that there is a major difference between a japanese boss ds-1 and an other boss DS-1 (korean for example). The japanese is the best. Some people said me that the DS-1 you have customized for Steve Vai are japanese. So i want to know if the ultra DS-1 you'll sell me is based on a japanese boss DS-1 ?
Thank you, sorry for my poor english,
Julien
Et leur réponse :
Howdy!!
After our mods there will be no audible difference between the MIT and the MIJ DS-1. Steve Vai uses made in Taiwan DS-1s! The biggest difference between the MIJ and MIT DS-1 involves the op amp and a minor circuit change. We do change our mod to the MIJ DS-1 to reflect that. I have a Japanese DS-1 in my personal effects chain and have compared it to the MIT ones, I couldn't really tell the difference.
Thanks,

Mon second mail :
Ok thank you for the answer :-)
Just a last question : I know that the classic ds-1 has a main problem : the noise. I know a lot of users who use a noise gate because of the noise which is produced by the pedal. I use the DS-1 of the BOSS ME50 and I've the same problem. Did you resolve this problem or have you kept this "characteristic" ?
Thank you very much,
Julien
Leur réponse :
Hi Julian!
Our DS-1 is MUCH quieter than stock...there is still SOME noise but I would not use a gate just for the DS-1. Any high gain pedal will have some noise issues, so don't expect too much out of em! We do try to lower noise so you can avoid noise gates, which can really eat up your tone.
Thanks,
Bryan
Après ca, j'ai passé commande par CB
Ils m'envoient alors ce mail :
Bonjour Julien,
Thanks so much for your purchase! I really appreciate your business. I should have the new DS-1 Ultra modified and ready in about 3-5 days then ship. Please let me know when you get it and let me know what you think, I really like to hear back from each and everyone so I know if there is anything that works particularly well! All that matters to me is your satisfaction; so let me know if everything is not exactly as you expected.
Important shipping note: For US customers, we will email you a tracking number from the post office. It will talk about a Shipping Date…that is the day we print the ticket for shipping, we finish work in the evening and it would go out the next day in most cases. That is not the date it will be shipped to your house. Delivery will be 3-4 days after that. For Customers in other beautiful countries: There is No tracking number, only a customs number which is not traceable but at least lets you know we sent it. We use EXPRESS MAIL ($30); it takes about 5-7 days most of the time, but is not a perfect system. Lastly, we can never promise a pedal by a certain date. So many things in our shop end up taking hours or days longer than planned that I can no longer promise a pedal by a certain date, 3-4 days build time plus shipping time is a close approximation.
Thanks again for your business; I am eternally grateful to you!
Merci,
Jacob Adams
