J'ai trouvé une photo de mon ampli sur un forum qui parle du monstre > 1980s Peavey Roadmaster Vintage Tube Series 160W

"The Roadmaster has 6x 6L6GC in the amplification section, and 4x 12AX7 in the preamp section. There also are 2x12AT7 for the reverb.

Made in around 1983 this is a 160w two-channel all-valve amp head. The amp has two channels selected by a push-pull pot. The lead channel is designed to replicate "English rock" sounds, while the normal channel is intended to have a more "American" feel. Mostly I use the lead channel for overdrive and the normal channel for clean. Both channels have a three EQ and push-pull pots (bright, smooth, thick) for boosting or cutting certain frequencies. The lead channel features a "pump" control in addition to the pre and post stages which gives a huge overdrive boost when cranked up to ten. There is also an effects loop, but it's not labelled as such so this amp is often reported as not having one. Also included are reverb and presence controls.

Don't look for a Master Volume Knob - for the real sound you have to turn it up and it's gonna be loud - very loud. But what a pleasure ^^

I use it with a Boogie V-Twin to get additional channel configurations (Lead/Crunch) and to profit from anything I need - Clean, Crunch, Drive, Lead. Otherwise I'm an old-school purist, the only effects I use are an ancient cry-baby wah and a Heil Talkbox. For some additional room/delay effects I use a Alesis Midiverb in the loop. Make sure to check and adjust the loop level tho, or the Pre Amp-Out, Power Amp In will eat about 60% of your precious power. This needs some adjusting and feel ;-)

Anyway - I had Marshall Hi-Gain Dual Reverb JCM900 and Boogie Rectifier but always got back to my Roadmaster. As replacement parts are hard to get now i use a Bugera 333 XXL on small stages now and reserve the beast for larger gigs and studio works.

If you can lay hands on one - don't hesitate, the're cheap and worth way more than you'll have to invest - if you find one :-)"

-"The Sonic Youth amp.... one of the few Peavey's I ever had any interest in. Would probably make an acceptable practice/recording bass amp in a pinch too."

-"I have seen those a few times. I have heard they sound great..."

Ce sera la dernière actualisation car j'aimerai le retuber et le garder.

Encore un petit aperçu de ce qui peut se dire sur la bête outre atlantique en général. (j'ai souvent entendu la comparaison avec un JCM800) >

"People sell these for very little, but to me, the output is pretty quality. i put a tube screamer in front of it and i think it's comparable to a jcm800."

"I had one of those quite a few years ago.I sold it like the dumbs#@t I was.been after one for a long time now.I believe it to be the best touring amp peavey has ever made IMO.If you ever want to get rid of it pls pm me.that amp is golden in my eyes "lucky you"

"The cleans are crystal clear, and the overdrive (pump) control is one of the most manageable I've ever experienced on any amp. I can get any sound I want from this rig. It sounds great with any decent guitar, be it single coil, humbucker, active, whatever. I'm surprised it isn't/wasn't more popular than it seems to be. Reverb would have been nice, but at the time, I couldn't find any other amp that sounded like what I wanted with or without reverb. I could go on forever about how much I love this amp.
